How It’s On Point works

From one legal question to a verified list of cases on point — usually in a few minutes.

    Create your attorney account

    Register with your name, email, firm and bar admission (number and state). We review each account and mark it as verified.

    Describe one research topic

    Enter the legal question, the jurisdiction (a federal circuit or a state) and court level, the relevant facts, the outcome or position you want to support, an optional date range and any notes. Be as specific as you can — the facts drive the relevance analysis.

    Pass the scope check

    Before you pay, an AI scope check reads the request. If it contains more than one distinct legal question, you will see an explanation and be asked to narrow it. Only single-topic requests can go ahead.

    Pay $99 with PayPal

    Pay with your PayPal account or a card through PayPal. The order is created for the exact fee and linked to your request; research starts only once PayPal confirms the payment has been captured.

    We research the case law

    Claude, Anthropic’s AI model, plans several targeted searches. We run them against CourtListener’s case-law database with your court and date filters, fetch the text of the strongest opinions, and have each one analysed for relevance against your question and facts.

    Every authority is verified

    Only cases actually retrieved from CourtListener can appear. Our software checks every case name, citation and quote in the AI output against the retrieved opinions and removes anything that does not match.

    Read, print or save your report

    You get a ranked list of cases with citations, holdings, fact comparisons, helps/hurts notes, verbatim quotes and links, plus a research memo. Print it or save it as a PDF from your browser.

While the research runs

The request page shows each stage — planning, searching, reading, analysing and writing the memo. It keeps going in the background if you close the page, and we email you when the report is ready. If CourtListener or the AI service is busy, the status shows delayed and it retries automatically. You will never be charged twice.
