Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and who we share it with.
Information we collect
- Account details: name, email, firm, bar number and state of admission, and a hashed password.
- Research requests: the question, jurisdiction, facts, desired outcome, dates and notes you submit, and the reports we produce.
- Payment records: PayPal order and capture IDs, amount, status and the payer email PayPal returns. We never receive your card or bank details.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and server logs used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To run your account, perform the research you pay for, verify attorney status, process payments, send service emails (receipts and “your research is ready”), prevent abuse and respond to enquiries. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Service providers
- Anthropic (Claude API) receives the text of your request and the retrieved opinions to plan searches and analyse cases.
- CourtListener / Free Law Project receives search queries derived from your request (not your name or account details).
- PayPal processes payments and receives the order description and amount.
- Our web host stores the site database and logs.
Because request text is shared with these providers, please leave out client names and other identifying or privileged details that the research does not need.
Retention
We keep your requests and reports while your account is open so you can see your history. Payment records are kept as required for accounting. You can ask us to delete your account and requests by emailing info@itsonpoint.com.
Security
Passwords are hashed, pages that handle your data require sign-in, every form is protected against cross-site request forgery, and each attorney can only see their own requests.
