Terms of service

Please read these terms before creating an account or submitting a research request.

1. The service

It’s On Point provides AI-assisted case-law research. For each paid research topic we search publicly available court opinions through the CourtListener API, analyse the retrieved opinions with an AI model, and deliver a report with cases, explanations, quotes, links and a research memo.

2. Who may use it

Accounts are for attorneys licensed to practise law, and people working under their supervision. You agree to give accurate registration details, including your bar number and state of admission, and to keep your password secure. We may verify, suspend or close accounts.

3. Research topics and fees

  • The fee is $99 (USD) per research topic, payable in advance through PayPal. Prices shown at checkout apply.
  • A research topic is one legal question. Requests containing more than one distinct question must be narrowed before payment.
  • You may have several requests open at the same time; each covers one topic and is charged separately. Unpaid requests can be cancelled at no charge.
  • Research begins only after PayPal confirms the payment. Each request is charged once.
  • If research cannot be completed, or finds no case on point, contact us at info@itsonpoint.com. Refunds are at our discretion and are issued through PayPal.

4. No legal advice; your responsibility

Reports are research aids produced with the help of AI. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they are not legal advice. No attorney–client relationship is created with It’s On Point. You are solely responsible for reading the underlying opinions, checking subsequent history, and confirming that each authority is valid and applicable before relying on it in any matter or filing.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us permission to process it — including sending it to our AI and case-law providers — to perform the research. Do not submit information you are not permitted to share; we recommend omitting client names and other identifying details.

6. Third-party services

Case law is retrieved from CourtListener (Free Law Project). Analysis uses Anthropic’s Claude models. Payments are processed by PayPal under PayPal’s own terms. We are not responsible for outages or content of third-party services, although we retry automatically when they are temporarily unavailable.

7. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt to access other users’ requests, resell reports as a competing service, or submit unlawful content.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is”, and our total liability for any claim relating to a research request is limited to the fee paid for that request.
